Quit PMS from Empowered Sustenance

Uncategorized

I’ll never forget the young woman who took my weight loss class a few years ago.

Like most women who come to see me for weight loss, she was experiencing other hormonal imbalances tied into the excess weight.   PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), cysts, fibroids and endometriosis are all common hormonal issues that are often connected to weight gain.

But probably the most common hormonal imbalance is PMS with symptoms such as acne, bloating and water retention, cramps, moodiness and irregular cycles.

At the end of the three-month class this young woman told me that for the first time in her adult life her periods had completely normalized.  She said her PMS symptoms disappeared and that it’s almost strange to have her cycle occur every 28 days now.  Since the program ended, she’s lost over 40 pounds and has kept it off.

Best of all, she’s now pregnant with her first child.

What did she do?

Well, pretty much everything  Lauren Geertsen recommends in her new e-book, Quit PMS.

Quit PMS: End Your Menstrual Misery

What You’ll Learn

  • Understanding estrogen dominance and how to correct it
  • Why calorie restriction harms your hormones
  • Why low-fat diets harm your hormones
  • Why excessively low-carb diets harm your hormones
  • Good period foods
  • Bad period foods
  • How to deal with stress effectively
  • The problems with birth control and oral contraceptives
  • Helpful herbs and supplements
  • And much more!

In particular, I loved Lauren’s discussion on healthy fats and carbohydrates.

Lauren discusses healthy fats and carbohydrates in detail and does a great job dismantling the myths and confusion around these macronutrients.

In particular, she explains why low-fat diets are so damaging.  Did you know that the very building blocks of our sex hormones are fats and cholesterol?  So many young women are conditioned to believe that fat will make them fat and eat tons of chemically-laden low-fat products that are just loaded with refined sugar.

But she also does a great job explaining why sugar, in real foods such as raw honey, raw milk, properly prepared grains and fresh fruits and vegetables can be beneficial and why extreme low-carb diets, albeit good for temporary weight loss, can also wreak havoc with women’s hormones.

Best of all, it’s SO REFRESHING to me to see someone helping to educate women on the importance of nourishing their bodies, not depriving them.

And you will definitely learn how to nourish your body.
