When I meet with clients and recommend a grain-free diet, I have to admit, I cringe a bit inside.  I can see the look on people’s faces as they start to mentally compute all the things they’ll no longer be able to eat.

Good-bye breakfast cereals.  Good-bye muffins, pastries, donuts, pizza, sandwiches, pasta, etc etc.

Yikes!  I know it can be a little intimidating.

But here’s the good news:  it’s not as hard as you think!

Nor do you have to give up things like pancakes, muffins, bread or even cookies as you can learn to use grain-free flours that taste great.

Would you believe that these pancakes are grain-free?

It’s true.  I swear.

But I know what you’re thinking…

Why would I want to go grain-free?

Traditionally, cultures that used grains were very careful in their preparation.  They soaked, sprouted and fermented grains to improve their digestibility as grains are really hard on our body’s digestive system.

But these time-intensive methods are not profitable for the food industry.

And when not properly-prepared, grains can contribute to inflammation in the body and exacerbate all sorts of health problems.

Here’s a short list of health issues that can be improved when going on a grain-free diet:

  • Chronic digestive issues like heartburn, IBS, bloating and constipation
  • Chronic inflammation and/or autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease
  • Food allergies or sensitivities
  • Chronic migraines
  • Chronic fatigue
  • Weight issues

Remember, Americans eat A LOT of grain products.   And when I work with clients, so many people report dramatic health improvements on a grain-free diet.

Still, it can be a overwhelming at first to transition away from the convenience of cheap grain-based meals like breakfast cereals and pasta.

That’s why I’m happy to share a new online class that can make the transition to a grain-free lifestyle so much easier!

Dr. Jill Tieman of Real Food Forager has just announced her new online class, Go Grain Free: Cooking for Ancestral and Healing Diets
