Did you know that when you go out to eat you’re probably eating genetically-modified organisms (GMOs)?
They’re in the oils that restaurants use.
Namely, corn, cottonseed, canola and soybean oils. The majority of these are genetically-modified.
They’re probably also in the foods in your house. Go to your cupboards and fridge right now. You’ll see them in there. They’re also hidden in things like soy lecithin, hydrolyzed soy protein, soy flour, soy milk, high fructose corn syrup, cornstarch, corn meal, dextrose, glucose, maltodextrin and so many more of those bizarre ingredients you see in packaged foods.
And don’t think just because you’re health-conscious that you’re not eating GMO foods. Many “natural” and “organic” products contain them. Did you know Kashi brand cereal contains GMOs? It’s true.
Since the rise of GMO foods in our food supply starting in the early 1990’s our health epidemics have shot through the roof.
The four As in kids are becoming normal – Allergies, Asthma, Autism and ADHD. The rise in autism in particular is scary. A generation ago it was one in ten thousand. Today? One in eight-eight.
Fertility issues in men and women are skyrocketing. Miscarriages are considered normal.
It is becoming rare to find someone not affected by thyroid issues, digestive disorders or mental health problems. Half of all women I see as nutritional therapy clients are on thyroid medication.
Furthermore, animals who are fed GMOs suffer serious health consequences. Until recently, only short-term studies have suggested a link. But just yesterday, the first long-term animal study on GMOs was released. The results? Rats fed GMO corn developed massive tumors.
Current laws in the US don’t require GMO foods to be labeled and that’s how Monsanto (the chief culprit), along with others, wants it to remain. Because if you knew what you were eating and if you knew the scientific evidence that connects GMO foods with serious health problems, you wouldn’t go near them.
And you certainly wouldn’t give them to your children.
And yet, we’ve all been unknowingly eating them for decades.
However, this November 6th, we finally have a chance to change that.
If passed, Proposition 37, a citizen’s initiative on the ballot in California, will mandate labeling of GMO foods.
And if labeled, consumer demand for alternative will likely force companies not to use them. This could set the precedent for the end of GMO foods in our food supply.
So many countries have already banned them. But not the United States.
So here’s what I want you to do.

Then start cleaning out your kitchen. Trust me, you’ll do this anyway. You’ll be so freaked out by what GMO foods are doing to our bodies, that common sense will dictate this.
Then when you go out to eat, ask the waiters what oils the chefs are using. Ask them to use butter or olive oil instead. If they can’t accommodate, go somewhere else.
Then contact your family and friends in California and ask them to vote YES on Proposition 37. The very future of life on our planet could be at stake in this vote.
That may sound like a crazy statement, but when you watch Genetic Roulette, this will be clear.
